Last month we discussed that people actually like their negative habits, because it serves them in some way. This month we will tell you how to get rid of those habits ( if in fact you really want to ).
1. Find the benefit of the negative habit. What is beneficial about not being open? You think you are protecting yourself from getting hurt. Now find the benefit of the opposite habit.
2. Find the benefit of the positive habit. What is the benefit of being open? You will welcome more opportunities into your life. Only when you find a stronger benefit of this new way of thinking, will you move toward that new habit.
3. Speak to your negative habits. Embrace them with gratitude and say, "Thank you for keeping me "safe", but I have discovered a new way". You have invited these thoughts to live in your mind and now kindly you are asking them to leave. Don't release your negative habits with anger, but through love.
4. Start living the new habit. All new habits feel a bit strange at first, but over time they will become second nature to you. So, start taking risks with new positive habits. Only then can you really begin to pursue your dream. Remember negative habits will always bring you pain and positive habits can bring you joy. If you are not happy and successful check your thinking. One great idea can change your life!
